Day 26: the Zest that seasons life. #AToZChallenge

Well, I finally did find a Z word that got me thinking. I looked through some word lists and some of those words I’ve never even heard of before. The word I ended up using is "zest".

Here is today’s poem:

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
It is far too bland without them,
Those who have felt they were friendless
Can appreciate the difference.

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
Friendships that are built over time,
That have endured sorrow and joy,
They give life it’s richest flavour.

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
I value all my online friends
Care about and pray for them, yet,
Sometimes, those friendships don’t go deep.

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
And there are those I’ve met online
Who, over time, have become dear
I would feel empty without them.

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
Sometimes the flavour becomes bitter
When harmful words are exchanged, and
A friendship of years is broken.

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
A broken friendship can be healed
If both parties are willing to
Apologise and make it right.

Friends are the zest that seasons life
Friendship, like anything, takes work,
But building something real and true
Will always be worth the effort!

Friends are the zest that seasons life,
Adding strength and richness to it,
Bringing joy and pleasure to it …
Friends are a gift to thank God for!

I looked for songs about friendship but didn’t find any I really wanted to choose, so I picked one  that I’ve probably used before, but it’s a great song.
